Our Car Body Shop in Birkenhead

We’re an Approved Car Body Repair Centre and an accredited member of the Vehicle Builders and Repairs Association. So you can rest assured that we can take care of you from the moment things go wrong. If you need further proof, we already do it for major insurance companies, fleet managers, accident management firms and, of course, private motorists. We’ll recover your vehicle, provide a courtesy car if you need one and return your damaged car as good as new.

Autocraft can colour match with your existing paint to repair chips and dents, or spray whole panels so convincingly you’ll never know there was a problem in the first place. We have full access to the OEM parts catalogues and paint codes, so there’s no guesswork at our place – the colour is spot-on – and the parts then head in to our low bake oven to produce a perfect finish.

The oven provides a stable, dust-free environment with a constant air temperature to give a tough and durable, as well as glossy, finish. All modern two-part paints need to be dried at 65 degrees Celsius and the only way to fully protect the base and clear coat is to bake it. Without a low-bake oven, then, paint repairs are soft, easy to scratch and can dull easily. Ours don’t.

For more serious repairs, we have a full body jig on hand to straighten the frame of your damaged car. Your vehicle body is a very fine work of art, and the way your car handles is totally dependent on your vehicle’s body and wheel alignment. If the frame and body are even slightly out of line your car simply won’t handle correctly.

In the worst cases, it’s plain dangerous. So if you’ve had a heavy crash, or even if you don’t think it’s that bad, it’s essential that an expert makes sure the frame is straight. If you’re putting your lives in someone else’s hands, it’s a comforting thought to know that we’ve been doing this for more than three decades.
